Oh while Ken was in the hospital (Katie who was making a quick trip here to see her Scottsdale friends )took mom to see Ken in the Hospital. What a lifesaver. I had to work that day. Mom was thrilled! She loved seeing Katie and Katie gave her a beautiful vase of roses. She was thrilled about that too. Thanks Katie, that was so nice! Next time come and stay longer ( I have 2 spare rooms again, wa hoo). Mom told me that she had just prayed that she would be able to find a ride to the hospital on my work day and presto she opened the door and there was Katie. Talk about answered prayer!!! ( God brought a "taxi" all the way from Cali just for mom and a really cool one too. Mom loves her grandchildren!)I'm glad mom is here and that she prays for all of us. She is a special lady.

I didn't mention in my last blog( it was already too long) that Ken was in the hospital. He is skin and bones and keeps getting so dehydrated that his BP drops and he kind of shuts down so mom calls 911 and he spends a few days in the hospital getting rehydrated and then comes home. He came home yesterday. He is now getting hospice care along with his caregivers care. I told mom that medicare usually covers a lot if not all of the cost of their care and kind of manages everything if he is on hospice so I guess she must have discussed it with the social workers because that is what he came home with. She gets frustrated too with Ken's daughter Dixie who calls the hospital constantly and medels with everything mom trys to do and pesters the nurses for information. I told mom that she ( mom) has medical power of attorney and she can limit who gets info and gives direction. Mom told the nurses this and she said they acted kind of scared. They should. They know that the hippa privacy law prohibits giving out information on a patient to anyone except the POA or have the POA's permission.I told mom if Ken has to go to the hosp. again to tell the nurses her wishes at the beginning of his stay .That way Dixie must get her information from mom not the other way around. Mom is Ken's wife not Dixie.

Again my poor blog has been abandoned. I have been busy doing who knows what...again.
I don't know why? I've even been giving myself guilt trips about not blogging, making me over eat( yeah right), next come the nightmares I'm sure. Well Brian moved out the week before the 4th of July( yipee!! er I mean, how nice for him..Ahem). So, today I am cleaning up the mess of his vacated space and wa la, I have a sewing/craft room again..YES! The door is now open because it doesn't look like the aftermath of a nuclear blast anymore and fresh air is again circulating in that part of the house. It is wonderful. I then got tired and sat down at the computer to rest and...blog.So here I am.
I took some vacation days during the 4th of July week and Jon, Carrie Sue, Tabitha, and Jonathan(in vitro) came to stay with us . We first checked out the sonogram showing that our new grandchild is indeed a boy. the out door plumbing was showing in 2 of the 4 shots.( he's going to love that some day..it kind of takes the place of the old bear skin rug pictures that parents used to whip out for the girl friend. Now they can just astound and amaze with sonograms). We sure enjoyed that week. On the 4th we decided to go up to Payson in the mountains out of the heat to enjoy fire works in the cool mountain air. We went to a tiny town called Pine for lunch in their only open restaurant and then went on to payson and saw the movie "Click" with Adam Sandler. He is so funny. We have to go to matinees when we all go to the movies because My Jon falls asleep in any movie shown after 5pm.( it's cheaper too) Well he didn't fall asleep but he did cry at the end of the movie. I had trouble figuring that one out . I don't
believe I have ever cried during an Adam Sandler movie nor know anyone else that has either. I have been embarrassed but never to tears...well anyway I thought it was funny and typically Adam Sandler. By the time the movie was over Tabitha was a bear. She hadn't had a nap and I saw my sweet little grand daughter turn into Atilla The Hun before my very eyes. Jon said she would probably cry all the way home after the fireworks so we skipped the fireworks and went directly home. She only cried 1/2 the way. Thank heavens we didn't stay for the fireworks.
The rest of the week we shopped and then saw the movie Pirates of the Caribbean opening night. It was great. That Jack Sparrow role was made for Johnny Depp and they left it open for another sequel too. My Jon DID fall asleep during that one. I think he was deprived as a child when the Free Church didn't believe in movies. He never learned how to go to them. He falls asleep during a rip snorting swashbuckler and crys during Adam Sandler. Very puzzling.
Last night, while cooking supper,I got a call from my hospital saying I had to come to work for a disaster.(That's funny, I thought that that was why I always went to work). Anyway, they said that 300 illegal aliens were found wandering in the desert( It was 115 degrees yesterday) outside of Wickenburg and were in pretty bad shape and they were all coming to Del Webb. I said, "This is a joke right?" The caller told me," no way. This is for real." I threw supper in the frige, got suited up, hopped in my cruiser and headed to work . When I got there the ER was mass confusion. Staff were wearing vests with "triage " stamped on them holding clipboards running to and fro amongst one another saying things like "they'll be here any minute. "It takes me an hour to get from where I live to the hospital so I was expecting dozens of fire engines, and halls strewn with crispy bodies wearing thermometers registering "well done"and gasping for water. All I saw was staff.I marched to the "command center" and reported to a robust woman holding a clipboard eating a very large piece of pepperoni pizza, my favorite.( at this point my stomach growled. My supper was in the frige 40 miles away) Between muffled bites of pizza she said, I'm calling an "all clear". "I guess there was only a hundred of them and were only getting 11 so you can go home now". She didn't even offer me a piece of pizza. I signed in, told them they owed me 2 hours travel time, and headed for Burger King. One Super stacker and a large diet coke later I was on my way home. The next time my caller ID says Del Webb I've already decided what I am going to do......!
