E-Gadds it's August already. My last post Gramma's Husband Ken had just come home from the hospital and so far is doing ok. His family seems pleased that mom got hospice to help with his care so everything is copacetic for now.

Today mom and I go to the beauty shop so mom can get her perm. It always feels good to get your hair fluffed and puffed. Mine has looked the same for so many years I don't remember what it was like to have hair...er... I mean long hair. Once a month I get it mowed ( like our yard)
and that's basically the total upkeep. Every other month I color it with whatever blond hair color I can find cheap. You might say I'm a technicolor blond. Some people are ash blond or golden blond I'm whatever blond is on sale. This month it is " flashy ashy blond" or something like that. I got lazy for the past 2 months and didn't color it at all and day before yesterday I noticed that the 1/2 inch roots weren't sluge brown any more. In fact, they were already almost "ash Blond"on their own. The sluge brown strands were few and far between and I was basically seeing WHITE.......YIKES!! I made a run for my closet and the shelf that holds my year's supply
of 2.99$ boxes of various shades of you know what , pulled on my one-size-fits all vinyl gloves and presto chango I'm the "real" me again...ahem. Now if I could just find a 2.99$ box of something to take away the fat and wrinkles....I could do anything.......take over the world!

Katie, I can't imagin you're not wanting to stay and enjoy our 119 degree, frickasee achicken, saute an omlet on the sidewalk, weather while you were here. Didn't you just love it? ha!
Come back after October 15th and you will love it!!! The nights start cooling in september but after the above date everything cools off and it becomes why we moved here and stays that way for 9 months.

I started painting again and I can't stop!!!! I have 10 sketches and I have painted 4 of them already in about 2 weeks. I love Mexican Taleveran pottery. The colors are smashing! Then I looked up Mexican folk dancing on the computer( lovely machine) and found out that the Mexican culture is far from the drab lifestyle that I had always pictured. It is full of music and dancing and color. I have dressed latin ladies in bright, colorful dancing costumes from the different states in Mexico, posed them with Taleveran pottery, doing everyday things and wa la
Happy, colorful senoras and senoritas , shopping, dancing, and playig guitars, etc., ect.,ect. You can tell I'm excited.I will take some photos and post them soon.

Mexican pottery is "smashing"? Was that on purpose? I love it!

I'm glad you're back to painting (although, I really don't think you need to extend it to your hair...). You're a GREAT artist! I've always loved your paintings.

Thweather here is great, too. A bit warm, although not near as warm as you're getting. But it makes the Gulf temp about 80 degrees. It's like swimming in a pool.

I extended your invitation to Jess. She may take you up on it. Thanks.

hey! i've vowed to steer clear of phoenix until december or january when i'm sure not to die during the drive...i'll also be renting a car the next time. it stinks when the speed limit is 75 (?) and your car tops at 70. i hate when that happens.

hopefully i'll make it there soon. jess and i should drive out together
